Refraction is the change in direction or bending of light while passing from one medium to another of different optical density.
Laws of Refraction
- The incident ray , the refracted ray and the normal at the point of incidence , all lie on the same plane .
- For two given media . the ratio sin i per sin r is constant , where i is the angle of incident and r is the angle of refraction . [The relationship is also known as Snell’s Law]
- Refractive Index is the name and symbol of the constant .
